U.S. Veteran Larry “Wolf” Stewart, age 64, of Newport, was born on December 3, 1949 in Newport, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his home in Newport. Larry worked at Haywood-Wakefield Industries for many years. He was a veteran of the the Vietnam War and served his county well, prior to retiring with 21 years and 3 months of dedicated service in the United States Army. He was a member of the New Zion A.M.E. Zion Church in Newport. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Haney; grandparents, Maggie Lee and Sam Stewart. He is survived by his mother, Mary E. Stewart; daughters, Cindy Stewart and Rebecca Stewart (Patrick) all of Mannheim, Germany; sisters, Deloris Robinson, Clarice Stewart, Myra Stewart-Diallo, Marsha Haney, Denise Barrett; brothers, Mitchell Stewart, Craig Stewart, Jackie Stewart, Danny Haney, and Marty Haney all of Newport; two loving aunts, Pauline Rice and Frances Thomas; godmother, Imogene Haney; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and friends, companion, Mary Keys, and special friend, Levis Brown, from the Vietnam War. A special thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, Christine Stewart, Joe Bragg, Janice and Ricky Stewart. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, October 5, 2014 with funeral services following at 3:00 pm, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rosie Cuberson officiating. Burial will be immediately following in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
