Imogene 'Jean' Blazer, age 78, of Jay Brooks Street, Greeneville, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 17, 2014, at her home.
She was retired from Durham-Hensley Nursing Home and was a caregiver.
Survivors include one daughter Treva Crawford; two sons and daughters-in-law: Glen and Donna Blazer and Donnie and Linda Blazer; six grandchildren: Shannon Crawford, Tina Blazer, Josh Blazer, Derek Blazer, Lyticha Jennings, and A.J. Weems; eight great-grandchildren: Trinity M. Blazer, Jerry Blazer, Jake Blazer, Trevor Jennings, Trinity A. Blazer, Tanner Blazer, Tinley Blazer, Nevaeh Weems, and Noah Weems; three sisters: Etta Caldwell, Betty Ruth Blazer, and Rose Lee Jennings; five brothers and two sisters-in-law: Joe and Doris Talton, Ralph Talton, Dewey Talton, L.V. and Joann Talton, and Wallace Talton; several nieces and nephews; special friend: Relda Capps; caregivers: Stacy Taylor, Debbie Moore, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband O'Dell Blazer in 1992; two grandchildren: Brittany and Devin Coppage; parents: Bill and Lula Talton; one sister Viola Whittaker and one brother Cley Talton.
The family will receive friends from 6:00--8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Eddie Blazer will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to go in procession to St. James Cemetery for the 10:30 a.m. committal service.
Active pallbearers will be Shannon Crawford, A.J. Weems, Shawn Jennings, Charlie Blazer, Bobby Blazer, and Robert Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Amedisys Hospice, Margaret Lane, Debbie Johnson, and Dr. Candi Overholt.
