Flora Edna Cobble McMahan passed away at home with her family on July 3. She had lived in the Bryant Town Community for over sixty years. Affectionately known to as Gran Gran to family and friends in her later years, she was always active in her grandchildren’s activities. Recent declining health prevented her from her avid hobbies of sports, gardening, and Republican politics. She moved to Cocke County from Greene County with her family at three weeks of age. She grew up in the Edwina Community and loved to share childhood stories. She was the last living person to see the foundation poured of the rock barn in which she played as a child. She was preceded in death by her parents Nell Owen and David Edward Cobble; husband, Y.J. McMahan; Jr.; sister, Marie (Morris) Runyan; brother, Guy Cobble; and nephew Roger Cobble. She is survived by her daughter, Linda McMahan Branam; son-in-law Gene Branam; grandson, David McMahan Branam; granddaughter, Lisa Marie (Michael) Webb; great-grandson, Gabriel; nephew, Roy Cobble (Annie); nieces Glenda James and Gay Nell (Benny) Smith; and many great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6 from 6 to 8 pm with funeral services at 8:00 pm. Internment at Union cemetery at 11:00 on Wednesday.
