Steve “Boogie” Sparks, 57, died suddenly on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Steve was born on July 20, 1957 to Dale and Imogene Sparks, both of Maryville. He was a graduate of Lanier High School. Steve was a generous, jovial, and fun-loving man who was loved by many, many people. Owner of Blount County Concrete, Steve built a reputation as a hardworking, trustworthy, and dependable entrepreneur. As a member of a motorcycle club, Steve loved riding his Harley. Steve is survived by his mother, Imogene Fann Sparks; father, Dale J. Sparks; siblings, James E. Sparks, Rhonda Khashijan, Mayford D. Sparks, and Allen King. He will certainly be missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Jennifer Sparks, daughter, Katie Sparks, as well as grandchildren, Alyssa Sparks and Jackson Halsey. Steve left behind his beloved fiancé, Von Buchanan and also grieving him are many nieces and nephews, including Jasmine Satterfield, Jenna Khashijan and Serena Sparks. Boogie had innumerable friends and an extremely large and extended family who will all greatly miss him. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Scott Linginfelter officiating. Interment service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at New Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. After the graveside service, motorcyclists are welcome to take part in a memorial ride ending with a Celebration of Life taking place at the Gravel Pile on Chilhowee lake.
