March 25, 1947-February 1, 2012 Memorial services for Mr. Stephen Owens, age 64, of Wartrace, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Rev. Ellen Hill officiating. Mr. Owens passed away Wednesday evening at Heritage Medical Center. Per his request, his remains will be cremated. Visitation with the family will begin at 3:00 p.m. A native of Newport, TN, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Floyd Stanley and Emma (Williams) Owens. He retired as a Chemical Engineer and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Owens is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary Dickerson Owens; children Mary Ellen (Tom) Cooper, of Dahlonega, GA, and William Todd (Ruth) Owens of Tallahasee, FL; grandchildren Will and Gage Owens; sister Cathey Owens of Newport; and many nieces and nephews.
