Mrs. Hazel Ida (Payne) Sane , age 59, of Newport, died Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Holland Sane . She attended Bat Harbor Log Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Robert Dean Williams, of Newport; granddaughter, Deanna Williams, of Newport; grandson, Justin Williams, of Newport; sisters, Nora Gillespie and Cora Askew, both of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Lura and Wade Williams, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Edna Payne, of South Carolina, Creed and Ethel Payne and Luke and Georgia Payne, all of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Saturday, January 20, at 10 a.m. in Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jackie Swanger and Rev. Gary Ball officiating. Interment will be in the Payne Cemetery in North Carolina. The family will receive friends, Friday, January 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
