Mr. Leon Frazier, age 53, of Newport , TN, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Newport Medical Center.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father Gene Shropshire, stepfather David McSween, grandparents Austin William Frazier, father-in-law Arlie Stuart, and brother-in-law Ronnie Stuart.
Survivors include his wife Nina Gail Frazier of the home, son Timothy Frazier, daughter Vanessa Williams, granddaughter Kelsey Stephens, and mother Lucille Cogdill, all of Newport ; sister Karen Ottinger of Cosby; mother-in-law Evelyn Stuart and sister-in-law Linda (Steve) Mick, all of Sevierville; sister-in-law Judy (Ed) Hurst and brothers-in-law Nick (Christine) Stuart and Gary Stuart, all of Newport . Additional survivors include several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including special friend Ryan Voudren of Newport , TN.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alfred Ball officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Frazier Family Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00—8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Costner-Maloy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Costner-Maloy to help the final expenses.
