EL RENO, Okla. - Dan Bartlett Jr., 78, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, in Mesquite, Texas.
Graveside services were Saturday in El Reno Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wilson Funeral Home.
Mr. Bartlett was born April 17, 1926, in El Reno. He and his family moved to Shawnee in 1935 and he was a graduate of Shawnee High School. He and his wife, Martha Bartlett, were married for 62 years.
Dan worked as a tool pusher in the oil fields until 1959, where he moved to Amarillo, Texas. He became an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance Co., retiring in 1973. Dan later moved back to El Reno. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 50, VFW Post 382 and was a past patron of Order of the Eastern Star. Dan was a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He moved to Mesquite a few years ago.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dan Bartlett III and wife, Connie, and David Ray Bartlett and wife, Linda; four grandchildren, T.J. Tally, Dan Michael Bartlett, Debra Williford and John Bartlett; and four great-grandchildren, Katlynn Bartlett, Sarah Williford, Jonathan Williford and Rebecca Williford.
