Owenby, Stanley Mitchell age 84 of Walland passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born in Elkmont on December 20, 1921. He served in the CCC Camp at Gatlinburg. He was a World War II Veteran, with 33 years of military service, retiring from the Tennessee Air National Guard. He retired from ALCOA and was a member of their 25-Year Club. He was a faithful member of Oak View Baptist Church where he led singing for 40 years. He will be remembered for his wonderful words of wisdom. Preceded in death by: parents, Hubert & Cora Owenby; Brother, Glenn Owenby; Sister, Wilma & W.T. Bowers; Sister-in-law, Dorothy & Lloyd Keeble; Brother-in-law, Joe & Eunice Bowers; Grandson, Danny Dunlap. Survivors include: Wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Bowers Owenby; Daughters, Glenda Harrill & husband Charlie, Janice Dunlap & husband John, Debbie Bailey; Grandchildren, Kelly Harrill (Jason) Beddingfield, Amanda Dunlap (Chris) Noe, Sherrie Dunlap, Travis & (Beth) Dunlap, Brandon Bailey, Hunter Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey; Great-Grandchildren, Aidan Beddingfield, Mason Mikels , Christopher & Laney Noe, Will & Andrew Dunlap; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Don & Jimmie Owenby of Chattanooga, Bruce & Mae Owenby of Maryville; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Lorene & Lloyd Wilhite of Maryville, Jewell & Harold Headrick of Chattanooga, Louise & Gerald Dixon of Seymour; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, church family, friends, and relatives.
