Ruth L. Burgess, 78, of Sevierville passed away June 16, 2005 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. After a lingering illness she went home to meet her Lord.
As a longtime member of Oldham Creek Baptist Church she served her community and her Lord. Ruth retired from Dollywood after 21 years of service and making a host of friends whose lives she had touched while there.
Waiting for Ruth to join him is her beloved husband James who passed away in 1986 and her parents, Earl and Nummie McCarter McMahan.
Leaving behind to mourn her passing, but celebrating her life is her daughter, Roszella Cross of Sevierville; grandsons, Mitchell Bohanan and wife Christy, Chad Bohanan and wife Martina, and Adam Bohanan; great grandchildren, Brayden, Chesney and Kynlee Bohanan, Haley and her twin brothers Eric and Nathan Bohanan; special friends Walter R. and Shirley Bohanan.
Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005 at Oldham’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Wilson, Rev. Dee Wilson, and Rev. Mike Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Oldham Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18 in the Davis Room of Rawlings Funeral Home.
