Mary Ernestine Lovingood Foster, age 93, passed away peacefully and joined her loved ones in Heaven on April 21st, 2016, at Williamsburg Villas, her residence for the past six years. Mary was born June 7th, 1922, in Maryville, Tennessee and was a resident of Blount County her entire life.
Mary had a love for children and was licensed by the State of Tennessee as a foster parent. She had many hobbies which included playing the piano, singing hymns, cooking, and baking. Some of her signature dishes included chocolate pie, mac and cheese, and biscuits and gravy. She was a fun-loving individual and was the source of much laughter and joy to her family.
In her early years she was a beautician and co-owner of The Maryville Beauty Box. Mary was the jewel of her family and in her later years she was a dedicated homemaker who loved spending time with loved ones. Nothing brought her more joy than looking through pictures and videos of her many grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her sister, Katherine Parker; daughter Lisa England and husband Jeff; grandchildren Bethany Strader, husband Jeremy, and great granddaughter Emmy Ruth; grandson Brenton Tucker and wife Audra; grandson Benjamin Tucker and wife Mary; her adopted grandson Chris Foster and wife Julie, and great grandson Colin; granddaughter Tabitha Emert and husband Doug, great grandson Joshua and wife Chasity, and great great grandson Brantley.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey F. Foster; her son, Chris Lee, and grandson Patrick Taylor; her parents Dwight and Evelyn Lovingood; sisters Wilma Ray and Francis Carroll; brothers D. L. Lovingood and James Lovingood.
Mary's family wishes to thank all of the people who cared for her at Williamsburg Villas and her special friends, Anna Mae Gardner, Diane Chambers, Sandy Roberson and Amy Roberson-Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15th from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at McCammon Ammons Click funeral home in Maryville.
