Clark E. Stapleton, age 78 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at U. T. Medical Center. He was retired from Marketing Specialist as a Food Broker; was a member of Friendsville Friends Meeting House (Quaker) and was with the Friendship Choir singing group.
He loved the Lord, his family, his Church family, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Lynn; parents, Roy B. and Nell Stapleton; brothers, Jim Stapleton and Ralph Stapleton.
Survivors include his wife of 57 ½ years, Margaret Nell Stapleton; daughter, Judy Stapleton Porter and husband David; son, Kenneth L. Stapleton and wife Robin; daughter, Diane Stapleton Landers and husband Terry; grandchildren, Sandra Porter Bohlken and husband Greg, William Porter, Brad Stapleton, Brenna Stapleton, Allyson Landers and Wesley Landers; sister, Jackie Gamble; brothers, David Stapleton and wife Lynda, John Stapleton and wife Carolyn; sister, Vivian Payne and husband James; sisters-in-law, Nancy Stapleton and Joann Stapleton; good friend of the family, Morgan Best; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Friendsville Friends Church with Larry Fowler officiating. The interment will follow at Friends Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church.
A Celebration of Life meal will follow the interment in the Church pavilion.
