Christopher Conly Burchell, age 41 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014. He was a kind and generous person who loved his family and his Lord Jesus. At the age of eleven, he received Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Valley Grove Baptist Church and was a member of Stock Creek Baptist Church. As a teenager, he earned his Eagle Scout award. Chris loved reading his Bible and talking to others about Christ. He also enjoyed beach trips with his family, and gathering for family dinners at his sister's house. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars, being with other people, and taking care of his beloved animals.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Jo Burchell, and his grandparents, Doc A. and Rettilia Burchell and Elmer and Onia Johnson.
He is survived by:
Parents: Melvin and Betty Burchell
Sister: Leigh Ann Kirkwood and husband David
Brother: Mike Burchell and wife Tennga
Nieces and nephews: Callie Kirkwood, Abbie Kirkwood, Reese Kirkwood, Catalina Burchell, and Ethan Burchell
Many loving cousins
Best Friend: Jamie Extine
Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday at Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Rev. Chad Rittenhouse officiating. Interment 11 AM Thursday in Valley Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends
