Gregory Stephen 'Greg' Ewing , age 44 , of Lancaster , New Hampshire , died Tuesday , March 8 , 2016 .
He was a 1989 graduate of Cocke County High School and later attended Walters State Community College and Maryville College.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany.
He was employed by Wal-Mart.
He is survived by his mother Judy Woford Ewing of Knoxville, father Bill Ewing and wife Gayla of Cosby, sisters Deanna Ewing McMahan and husband Brian of Knoxville, and Denise Webb and husband Roger Blakely of Newport; grandmother Margie Woford of Lebanon, Kentucky; nieces Amber and Keana McMahan, both of Knoxville and Ellie Owens of Newport; uncles James Woford and wife Anita of Lebanon, Kentucky and Allen Woford and wife Diann of Burqaw, North Carolina, aunts Joanne Jenkins of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Sissy Woford of Lebanon, Kentucky, cousins Julie Arndt of Stanford, Connecticut, and Jana Brinson of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Missy, Cindy, and Ben Woford, and lifelong friend Bill Palmer of Newport.
At his request, Mr. Ewing was cremated.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 212 Washington Ave., Newport, TN 37821.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
