SHEETS , ROBERT " GUILFORD " - age 81, of Maryville, died at 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Alterra Sterling House. He was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and Unitia Masonic Lodge #195 F & AM. He was a U. S. Navy World War II Veteran, and fought in the battle for the Phillippines. Mr. Sheets retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company, and was a member of Alcoa's 25 Year Club. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Sheets ; parents, T. F. and Sarah Sheets ; brothers, Boyd and Thomas Sheets , and sister, Sina Ruth Brooks. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Lloyd Ann Sheets of Maryville; daughter, Penny McLoughlin and Jim Stella of Alcoa; grandchildren, Rob Sheets , Tim Clark, Rhonda Stinnett, and Melissa Wilburn; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Kirkpatrick of Madisonville and Phyllis Abbott of Maryville, and other family includes the residents and staff of Sterling House in Maryville. Funeral service 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2002, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary with Rev. Gary Stinnett officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
