U.S. Veteran Ted Burnett LaFollette, age 77, of Parrottsville, passed away, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at his home. He attended Salem Lutheran Church for over 65 years; also taught Sunday School, former superintendent of Sunday School and served on the Church Council. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Ted retired from Myers Chevrolet where he was Service Manager; postal worker for 24 years and Courtesy Clerk at Food City for 8 years. He was also a farmer and a reader to 1st and 2nd grades at Parrottsville Elementary School on Friday’s. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Treva LaFollette, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Ruth LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and Tony Heavner all of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Glenn LaFollette of Atlanta GA, Whitney and Justin LaFollette and Kaci Heavner all of Parrottsville; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Alma Lou LaFollette; and special aunt, Mary Dee Ottinger all of Parrottsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Judean Vick of Newport; brother-in-law, Kennie Bible of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Linda Bible of Knoxville; also other family and friends including his Food City Family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Monday, June 20, 2011 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Salem Lutheran Church where the body will lie in state from 9:30 am until 10:00 am prior to the funeral. Pastor Jack Wilder will officiate with burial in Salem Cemetery following the service Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the building fund of Salem Lutheran Church at 3001 Salem Rd. Parrottsville,Tn 37843, or to the American Cancer Society. Family and friends may sign the guest register on line at: www.manesfuneralhome.com.
