QUILLEN , ERNEST COLUMBUS - age 81, of Alcoa, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2002, after a brief illness at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Alcoa First Baptist Church since 1949, and a member of the Believers Fellowship and Berea Sunday School Class. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Prudential Lodge #719. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater, and retired from the Alcoa Aluminum Company after 42 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by parents, Loren, Sr. and Pearl Quillen sister, Ethel Drake brothers, Opherl, L.E. Jr., Kenneth, Harold, and Claude Quillen. He is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Bobbie Coker Quillen of Alcoa daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ronald Myers of Norcross, Ga. son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Anita Quillen of Marietta, Ga. brother, Ray Quillen of Mentor grandchildren, Michael Myers, Jamie Myers, Kelli Jenkins, Lori Lathem and husband, Greg, Lisa Broadhead and husband, Tommy, Casey Quillen and wife, Vicki great-grandchildren, Blakely and Kinsey Jenkins, Amy Katherine and Marlee Myers, Tyler Quillen, and Daniel Lathem sisters-in-law, Ruth Jenkins of Farragut and Helen Coker of Norcross, Ga. brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and Joann Coker of Waynesville, Ohio, Jerry and Donna Coker of Toledo, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Dr. Richard Holden and Rev. Henry Linginfelter officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Middlesettlements Cemetery for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to: First Baptist Church Alcoa Building Fund, 819 Gilbert Street, Alcoa, TN 37701.
