He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Givens ; sister, Sue Muncey; brothers, Ray, Roy, Buzzy, and Johnny. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Clara "Polly" Givens ; children, Steve Givens , Rick (Evelyn) Givens , Jama (Johnny) Gibson, Jeff (Arlene) Givens , Carolyn Autrey, Scott (Patricia) Givens , and Julie (Mark) Sewell; 28 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Moore and Ruby McGill. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the chapel at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Long officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. prior to the services Tuesday evening. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at New Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Smith-Reagan Funeral Home of Rutledge, Tennessee in charge of arrangements.
