Pearl Houk Templin died on March 12, 2008, at Asbury Place, Maryville, TN. She was born April 3, 1908, in Sevier County TN. She was a long-time member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Alcoa, TN. Mrs. Templin was preceded in death by: husband, Wilbur L. Templin; father and mother, Beecher and Jemima Houk; brothers, W.H and Claude Houk; and nephew, Tommy Houk. She retired from Proffitts Dept. Store after many years of service. Prior to moving to Blount County in 1944, Mrs. Templin taught school in Sevier County. She is survived by: son, David H. Templin and wife Joan; granddaughters, Holly Kenner and husband Mark, Melinda Shipwash and husband Roger; great-grandchildren, Kelly, Nathan, Samuel and Benjamin Kenner, Joshua and Emmalea Shipwash all of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Johnny Creel of Conway, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mildred Houk Maryville; nieces Sandi Creel, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Cindy Epps, Matthews, NC; nephew, John Creel of North Myrtle Beach, SC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Smith Trinity Chapel with funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 130 Eagleton Rd., Maryville, TN 37804.
