(January 24, 1953 - September 2, 2014) Vada Joyce Garrett, age 61, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Her church and church family was very special to her. Preceded in death by her mother, Selma Hall; father, Pearl James Arden; step father, James Allen Hall and brother, Henry Harold Arden. Survivors include her husband, Grayson Garrett; sons and daughters in law, Dewayne and Kay Garrett, Roy and Beverly Garrett, and Randy Garrett; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers in law, Margaret and Herman Pilkington, Stella and Henry Russell, Linda and Ronnie Burns, Janie and John Riley “Junior” Bishop and Faye Arden; and several nieces and nephews and a lot of special friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Rev. Grayson Garrett and Rev. Donnie Dixon officiating. Graveside service and interment 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Oakland Baptist Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
