October 20, 1930 - September 28, 2013
Bob Cross, 82, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Cross was a member of Charity Baptist Church and a retiree of Duracell with 16 years of service. He was a former member of the United Auto Workers Union while employed at Bendix Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Taylor Cross; parents, Harrison Jacob Cross and Annie Ethel Yates Cross; and two brothers, C.L. Cross and Steven Cross. He is survived by one daughter, Sue Cross and Dwayne Tegels of Cleveland; two sons and daughters-in-law: Vernon Cross and wife Joan of Old Fort, and Preston Cross and wife Tammie of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Patrick Cross and wife Sherry, Brandi Alexis Cross, Jessica Davenport and husband Justin, Dustin Kilgore and wife Natalie, all of Cleveland, Jack Cross and wife Kelly, Michael Cross and wife Karen, and Myles Powell, all of Old Fort; twelve great grandchildren: Logan Cross, Lyndsey Cross, Ben Cross, Angelina Cross, Jayden Cross, Gavin Cross, Hunter Kilgore, Brook Kilgore, Gracie Kilgore, Abbi Kilgore, Kayla Davenport, and Alyssa Davenport; three brothers: Hurby Cross, Kenneth Cross, and David Cross; five sisters: Alice Lamb, Irene Osborn, Jessie Wollard, Wilma Barber, and Luese Comp; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Smith and Pastor Roger Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with a white doves release ceremony concluding the service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
