(March 31, 1960 - February 22, 2016)
U.S. Veteran Wally (Wallace) Coggins, age 55, of Parrottsville, passed safely into the arms of God surrounded by his wife and daughter on Monday, February 22, 2016. He was one of the most courageous men we have ever known. He fought a good, long fight and his battle is now over. He retired after twenty years of dedicated service from the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He loved to hunt and enjoyed doing so until his declining health prevented him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and JoAnn Coggins; brothers, Bill and Tim Coggins; and father-in-law, Castor Ottinger. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Coggins; daughter, Brittany Coggins; brothers, Bob (Theresa) Coggins and Jack (Crystal) Coggins; sisters, Vickie (Rick) Marshall and Shirley Helton; sister-in-law, Bobbie Coggins; mother-in-law, Nedra Ottinger; plus a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family including, Ronnie and Linda Blazer. Many thanks to DCI Dialysis Center in Sevierville, Dr. Keri Melancon, and staff for their loving and dedicated care of Wally and to Salem and Luther Memorial Churches. Funeral Services will be at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Rev. Norman Deal officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2016 in the Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel prior to the funeral services. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Manes Funeral Home.
