Edna Gilliland, age 91, of Newport passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a member of the Old Time Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Gilliland; parents, Jesse B. and Lennie Holt; brothers, Cecil, JB and Ruble Holt; sister and brother-in-law, Louella and Russell Keasling; and sister, Exie Brummit. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne (Linda) Gilliland of Bybee, daughter and son-in-law, Wanda (Robert) Eaton of Johnson City; grandchildren, Kimberly Shults, Angela (Steve) Hudson, Savannah Eaton and Robert Eaton, Jr.; great grandchildren, Emily, Melinda, Melody and Michael; brother, Jim (Bettie) Holt of Holly Springs, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Harold Brummit of Bybee; sisters-in-law, Ruby Jean Holt of Bybee and Pauline Holt of Bybee; special friends, Dennis and Sabrina Williams of Newport, Bettie Solomon of Bybee and Peggy Collins of Greenevillle; also several nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2: 00 pm Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Ball and Rev. Bobby Samples officiating. Burial will follow in the Centerview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Manes Funeral Home.
