December 20, 1940 - March 13, 2018 Wanda “Sue” Ownby (Momma) (Mamaw) age 77 of Gatlinburg, went home to live out her eternal life with Jesus Christ our Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. She was an amazing and loving wife, Momma and Mamaw, and her home and her heart, and especially her kitchen, were always open to anyone. The best baked goods were always being prepared and available in her kitchen, (Sue’s Kitchen), and her heart’s greatest desire was to give to her family and friends, and to make sure all were well fed, with a “you need to eat”, or “are you hungry?” Her love and care will be greatly missed by the love of her life for 60 years, Papaw Eugene, by all her family and friends, and by all who knew her; and perhaps by anyone who ever ate her fried pies, or dried apple stack cake, or lemon meringue pie, or biscuits and gravy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted Maples and Louise Hickam, and sister, Juanita Branam. Survivors include her children, Rev. Jeff and Megan Ownby, Tony and Elizabeth Ownby, Paige Ownby; grandchildren, Jared and Beth, Erin and Ron, Zach, Savannah, Caleb, Madison Suzann, Destiney and Brandon, Ryan Grace, Rylee, Reese, Lauren, Taylor, and Will; great-grandchildren, Ella Claire, Judson, Aubrey, Allie, Cecilia, Kayleigh and Jett; sister, Nancy Manis, Nelda McCarter; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Monday, March 19th with the funeral service for both Sue and her husband, Eugene, to follow at 5 PM in the Glades Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev.
