Henry Proffitt, 79, of Pigeon Forge, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2005 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center.
As a long-time member of the Evans Baptist Church he worshipped his Lord and served his community. Henry worked as a laborer in the construction business for many years to make a living and provide for his family.
Preceding Henry in death are his parents, David Basom Proffitt and Idalee Dixon Proffitt; sisters, Cora Whaley and Ruth Brackins.
Henry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Stella Brackins Proffitt; son, Edward Proffitt and wife Dena, granddaughter, Sarah Danielle Proffitt; step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Jensen. Besides the immediate family, Henry will be missed by many friends whose lives he has touched during his lifetime.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ben Knight and Rev. Jeff Blalock officiating. Interment will follow the service at Huskey Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 in the Davis Room at Rawlings Funeral Home.
