Mrs. Wanda Viola Ottinger Thomas, age 73, of Parrottsville, passed away Sunday morning, August 12, 2012 at her home. She was a member of Parrottsville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Rueben and Beulah Ottinger, brothers-in-law Jake Bible and Labon Thomas, and sisters-in-law Una Vee Broome and Dora Jane Owenby. She is survived by her husband Carl Thomas of the home; daughter and son-in-law Carlene and David Roark; sisters Mary Ellen Bible and Rozelle Ottinger, both of Parrottsville; sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Bill Suggs of Parrottsville; brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Marilyn Ottinger of Dalton, GA; and brother-in-law Gaylon Thomas of Dandridge. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews, and many special friends including Darwin and Peggy Jones of Mosheim, Tommy and Judean Vick and Carroll and Polly Wise, all of Newport, and Herb and Reba Faye Sane of Parrottsville. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Spell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home to go in procession to Union Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the service.
