Labon (Doc) Thomas, 68, of Parrottsville, passed away Thursday at the Takoma Adventist Hospital in Greeneville following a short illness. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lena Thomas. He is survived by his sisters: Una Vee Broome and her husband, Ashley, of Knoxville; Dora Jane Ownby, of Dandridge; Brothers: Gaylon Thomas, and Carl Thomas and his wife, Wanda, all of Parrottsville; Nephew, Terry Ownby, of Dandridge; Nieces: Hilda Jena Wykle, of Dallas, North Carolina; Rita Cobb, of White Pine; and Carlene Roark, of Jackson, Missouri. Graveside service will Sunday at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Brown Funeral Home in charge.
