Freda Leatherwood , 74, of Hartford, went to be with her Lord Saturday morning, June 23, 2001.
She was a member of Raven's Branch Church of Christ and DAV Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband of 46 years, Rufus Leatherwood ; parents, Fate and Zora Jane Taffer; sisters, Eva Lee Whitten and Hazel McMahan; and brothers, Olenis and Rowe Taffer preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, R.L. Leatherwood and his wife, Mary Ann, of Hartford; daughter, Judy Hodges and her husband, John, of Baneberry; sisters, Effie Frazier and her husband, Frank, of Cosby and Bernita Barton, of Greer, SC; brother, J.C. Taffer and his wife, Glenda, of Cosby; grandchildren, Richard Hodges, Jeffery Hodges, Douglas Hodges, all of Garden City, MI and Sonny Leatherwood , of Hartford; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hodges, Shane Hodges, and Judy Hodges.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Hosier officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, June 24, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
Brown Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Mrs. Freda Leatherwood .
