Mildred Gregg, age 85, of Newport, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at her sons home in Callahan, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gregg. She is survived by her son, Michael Gregg of Callahan, Florida; daughter, Arlene (Steve) Tingler of Bonaire, Ga; sister, Nancy Barnes of Cosby; grandchildren Rodney Williams of Pensacola, Florida, Gary Williams of Newport, Anthony Williams of Newport, Donald Jenkins of Newport, James Collett of Dandridge, Brandi Sutton of Morristown, Larry Goodwin of Tampa, Florida, Cainnon Gregg of Tallahassee, Florida, Megan McCoy of Jacksonville, Florida. Mildred has 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held graveside at 10 am Monday, June 16, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Ricky Foust officiating. Mildred had a good life, as a housewife and maintaining a farm. Mildred was a hard worker and a strong willed person. Family always came first in her life. She loved life and enjoyed her family to the fullest. She suffered from dementia, as in her last 10 months was aided by Vitas Hospice. She passed peacefully aided by a bedside nurse. She has now gone to meet our Father in Heaven.
