James Ray "Jimmy Ray" Douglas, of Newport, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at his home after a short illness, at the age of 50 years old.
He was an employee of Ace Products of Newport for 33 years.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jim" Douglas; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Blackwell; a special aunt and uncle, Mary Sue Rhea and Earl Blackwell.
Jimmy Ray was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was married to Darlene M. "Trowell" Douglas, of Newport, for 30 years.
He leaves behind two daughters, Whitney Renea Douglas, who lived at home, and Melinda Kaye Webb and husband, Brian E. Webb, of Newport.
Jimmy Ray also leaves behind two grandsons, Wesley James Douglas and Brian Austin Webb, of Newport; mother, Wilma Edith Douglas, of Newport; sister, Martha France, of Newport; brother, Ralph "Pumkin" Douglas, and wife, Linda, of Live Oak, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Ray Trowell, and wife, Tina, of Bybee.
He is also survived by special uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Gregg officiating, with burial in Union Cemetery.
