Swaney, Roy Dennis, age 63 of Hopewell, VA, formerly of Greenback, passed away at 7:45 PM Tuesday May 23, 2006 at the family home. Preceded in death by parents, John Wilburn and Hazel Irene Jones Swaney; brother, Elmer Lee Swaney; and granddaughter, Jennifer Swaney. Survivors include his wife, Myrline Grimes Swaney; daughters and sons in law, Mary Ruth and Eddie Thompson of Greenback, Teresa Irene and Charlie Hearon of Greenback, and Rebecca and Robert Thacker of GA; sons and daughters in law, Roy Lee and Diane Swaney of GA, David Wayne Swaney of GA, Jesse and Cheryl Farris of VA, and Curtiss and Shannon Farris of AL; twenty-one grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, James and Linda Swaney, Lloyd and Rosemary Swaney, Joe and Susan Swaney, Carl and Pat Swaney, and Ben and Jennifer Swaney all of Maryville; sister and brother in law, Linda and Claude A. Bates of Maryville; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral service 8:00 PM Friday May 26, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Lonnie Swaney officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Saturday at Four Mile Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (www.millerfuneralhome.org)
