Isla Cain Smith , age 86 of Maryville, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at Maryville Health Center.
She was a member of Fairpark Westland Church, she attended Campbell Junior College, and she graduated from R.L. Pullman School of Nursing. She served as Director of Nursing and Schools of Nursing in Fayetteville, NC, and served as Asst. Director of Nursing in Washington, DC. She was a member of the American Nursing Association and American Red Cross.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond O. Smith , Sr., and parents Eugene M. and Annie T. Sykes Cain.
She is survived by stepdaughter-in-law Mary E. Smith of Maryville, stepdaughter Peggy Mellow of CA, and stepdaughter and stepson-in-law Fran and David Binns of TX. She has 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and a sister, Lucy Matthews of NC, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Pastor Wayne Friday officiating.
