SMITH , RAYMOND O. "BICK", JR. - age 75, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2000 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, The Maryville Kiwanis Club and retired from The U.S. Air Force as Major, having served during World War II and Korea. He was a Helicopter Pilot during the Korean Conflict and receive The Distinguished Flying Cross. He graduated from The University of Texas with a degree in Business Administration and Industrial Management. After being discharged from active duty in 1961, he graduated from U.T. Pharmacy School and worked in the pharmacy at Blount Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, R.O. and Jonnie C. Smith and a brother, Bowman Smith . Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Brown Smith ; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Marilyn Smith , David and Susan Smith and Bill and Betsy Smith ; grandchildren, Laura, Aaron, Melissa, Jennifer, Austin, Jake,Holly and Brook; sisters, Peggy Smith Mello of Atwater, CA and Fran Binns and husband, David, of Plano, Texas; step-mother, Isla C. Smith of Maryville. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Emily Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Memorials may be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W.
