Paul Lee Wilson, 86, a native of Sevier County, and a resident of Englewood for the past 48 years, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, after a lengthy illness.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Englewood, where he served as a deacon, choir member, Sunday school teacher, as well as serving in other capacities over the years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Panama and Trinidad, reaching the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Hazel Reagan Wilson of Englewood; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Jane Wilson of Niota; three grandsons and their families, Gerald L. and Amy Wilson and their daughter, Allie Marie Wilson, Michael W. and Jill Wilson and their daughter, Emma Marie Wilson, and Thomas J. and Jessica Wilson and their daughter, Cora Jade Wilson, all of Niota; one brother, Hugh Wilson; five sisters, Inez Lewis, Cecile Roberts, Lois Ming, Kay McCarter and Ruth Christopher; two sisters-in-law, Grace McMahan and Janie King; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Union McMinn Baptist Church in Niota.
There will be no formal visitation.
The family has requested no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Englewood or Union McMinn Baptist Church of Niota.
