U.S. Veteran Jesse Lloyd Ketner, age 89, completed his final journey on March 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving Dad, papaw and little papaw. He was a member of Centerview Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 45 years and Adult Bible teacher for over 40 years. He proudly served his country in two branches of service, the United States Navy and Unites States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Edith, parents William and Elizabeth Ketner, brothers, Charles , Ulys, and John and sister Margaret. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Cureton, Phyllis Crum and son-in-law whom he loved as a son, Eddie; grandchildren, Kim (David) Hall, Chad (Gina) Crum, Heidi (Frank) Sheppard, Heather (Andy) Holt; great-Grandchildren, Dillian, Destianee, and Devian Hall, Austin and Carlee Crum, Kenzie and Alex Smith, Brady, Abigail, Camdyn, and Emma Holt; and special brother-in-law Rev. Bill Worex. Also a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and all of his church family. Family will receive friends Friday, March 7th, 2014 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at Centerview Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with, Rev. Carl Bryan and Rev. David Hall officiating. Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to Smoky Mtn. Home Health and Hospice for their care and a very special thank you to nurses Melanie Vassar, Heather Arnold, and Chaplain Glen Bradley.
