Hazel Williams Rickman FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Hazel Williams Rickman passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 9, 2008, at her home in Flagstaff, Ariz.
She is survived by her children, Russell and Wally McCrea, both of Boise, Shane Rickman , Charlie Callie and Karen Rickman , all of Flagstaff, Ariz., Theresa Mackie of Wimberly, Texas, and Wilma Shehryar of Boseman, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren.
Hazel was born to J. Raymond Williams and Alma Freund Williams in Buhl on March 15, 1935, and lived on a farm in Castleford, where she attended grade school. She was the oldest in a family of 11 brothers and sisters, which included three sets of twins and a stepsister and stepbrother. At the age of 12, her family moved to a ranch at Bellevue, where she graduated from high school in 1953.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.W. Williams , who helped raise her and her siblings; and a sister, Melba Gray.
She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends and the birds she so faithfully fed and enjoyed. Her flower beds will miss her loving touch and creativity.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Nativity Church in Flagstaff, Ariz. For those who wish, flowers can be sent to Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, or in lieu of flowers, the family requests a gift to either the American Heart or Lung Association in her memory.
