U.S. Veteran Roy Lee Wines, age 73 passed away at his home in Parrottsville, Saturday April 25, 2009. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Browns Chapel Church as long as his health permitted. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Webb and parents, Perry and Mattie Wines.
He is survived by his loving wife, friend and caregiver, Norma Jean Gregg Wines of the home. Three daughters, Mitzi White, Patti Wines and Vicki (Johnny) Williams all of Chucky. Two step sons, Timothy (Jureta) Gregg of Parottsville, Marty (Jeannie) Gregg of Mosheim. Two Granddaughters, Amber White, Jessica Webb and grandson, Derek Fox all of Greeneville. Step grandchildren, Bailey Gregg, Terra Brooks, T.C. Brooks, Shawn Brooks, Tony, D.J. Victor, Jeff, Kim and Becky Gregg. Great granddaughter, Victoria Fox. Two sisters, Euna (Elmer) Castell of Greeneville and Ruth Light of Rogersville. One brother Johnny Wines of Greeneville and several nieces and nephews. Sisters in law Linda Franklin, Nora Franklin (Freddy),brother-in-law, Jonathan (Judy Gregg, Allen (Kay) Gregg all of Newport. Very special friends, Josie Wines and Don Gray of Chuckey and Kim Gregg of Newport.
Funeral service will be 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Paul Jennings and Rev. Randall Frisbee officiating. Interment will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in the Faubian Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Derek Fox, Glenn Gregg, Larry Gregg, Grady Evans, Junior Gregg, Dewey Styles and Mike Franklin.
