Laura Beth Overholt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lonas Overholt, of Maryville, and the late Connie Overholt, is engaged to marry Bryan Michael Powers, son of James and Theresa Powers, of Oakdale, at 6 p.m. June 5 at Smithview Pavilion. Invitations will be sent.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Bob and Bess Brown, of Maryville, Esco and Mildred Blair, of Maryville, and the late Lonas Overholt.
The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late James and late Jeanette Powers, the late Sackey Polhamus and the late Marilyn Kelly.
The bride-to-be is a 1998 graduate of Maryville High School and a 2003 graduate of Maryville College. She received a Master of Education degree and Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She is employed as a physical education teacher and softball coach at Greenback School.
The bridegroom-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Oakdale High School and a 2003 graduate of Tennessee Tech University. He is a fifth-grade teacher and boys’ basketball coach at Greenback School.
