CHAMBERS , FRANK P. - age 82 of Knoxville died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Dandrige, Tenn on July 25,1917. He is a current member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church and formerly a longtime member of Burlington United Methodist Church where he was treasurer for many years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a graduate of Knoxville Business College. He retired from Armour & Co. and later was employed as a financial aid officer with Knoxville Business College. Preceded in death by parents, L.L. & Molly Chambers of Dandridge; survivors include, wife, Rosemary Chambers ; sons & daughters in law, Brad & Cheryl Chambers of Cookeville and Jeff & Heather Chambers of Florida; daughter and son in law, Nancy & Nathan Dowling of Mississippi; daughter, Julia Chambers of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kelly, Joseph & Abigayle Chambers ; brother, Ralph L. Chambers of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. James Bailes officiating. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to: The Kidney Foundation, The American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association. Memorial trees may be donated through the City of Cookeville Leisure Services Dept. Memorial Tree Program.. Interment will follow the service in Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday January 8, 2000, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.
