Olan K. Leatherwood , age 84 of Newport, died Wednesday morning at his home. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Cenie McGaha Leatherwood, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Imogene Freeman Leatherwood of the home, son Terry Leatherwood of Nashville. Brother Vick Leatherwood, sisters Jeanette and Dorcas Laws of Gastonia, NC. Slso several nieces and nephews. Special friends Amber Broyles, Jessica Owenby, Amedysis Home Health and Hospice caregivers, Tommy Frazier, Waldo Freeman, Robert Harer, Tommy McGaha and Burl Roberts. Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 12 – 2 pm prior to the service.
