RUSSELL , GLADYS BEATRICE TURNER - age 74, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at her home in Maryville, Tenn. She was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church in Maynardville, Tenn. for 51 years and was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years. Preceded in death by parents, Holbert and Zola Turner; and granddaughter, Kendra Sue Russell . Survivors include husband, I.C. Russell ; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Bonnie Russell of Maryville and Trent and Sherry Russell of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Edward Graves of Corryton, Tenn.; special niece, Irene Branch; brothers, Calvin and Everett Turner; sisters, Laura Smelcher, Opal Walker and Vontella Sparks; grandchildren, Kenton and Timmy Graves, Brenda Helton, Brian and Tara Russell , Heather Breazeale, Bevada and Latricia Russell ; eight great-grandchildren; many friends and loved ones. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Alder Springs Baptist Church in Maynardville, Tenn. with Rev. Clifford Fraker and Rev. David Mullins officiating. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service in Letts Cemetery, Maynardville, Tenn. Memorial donations may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Letts Cemetery or to the American Cancer Society.
