John Roy Berry , 56, Sweetwater, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer where he won the war. He was a loving brother. He was preceded by his son, ( John Boy) Berry ; stepson, Robby List and niece, Angel Owens. He is survived by his parents, Raymond and Alice Akins; wife, Carolyn Berry ; step-children, Patty (Sissy) Stevens and Keary Neuzil; brothers and sisters, Calvin Hyett and wife, Carolyn, Wayne Akins and wife, Robin, all of Lenoir City, Joey Akins and wife, Tawanna of Loudon, Faye Worthy and husband, Mike of Sweetwater, Donna Akins and fiancé, Arlie French of Madisonville, Connie and Arwood and husband, Ronnie of Loudon, Chris Akins and wife, Angie of Madisonville; half sister, Bobbie Jean; grandchildren, Anthony, Logan and Alyssa Berry ; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins including, special aunt and uncle, Bobby and Imogene Simpson. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Packett officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. Sunday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 1 p.m. graveside services.
