Ethel Ellison, age 59, of Newport passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at Lakeway Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida Akers; brothers, Robert and James Akers; sister, Glenna Ricker; nephew, Craig Ricker; and two brothers-in-law, James Ellison and Charles Beach. She is survived by the love of her life and best friend, Swan Ellison; sons, Scott (Dedra) Ellison and Dale (Jane) Ellison; daughter, Holly Ellison and Jonathan Moore; brothers, Keith (Sheree) Akers, David Akers and Ann Nelson, George (Debbie) Akers, and Pete (Patricia) Akers; sisters, Marie Beach and Georgia (Donald) Hipps; brother-in-law, Bob Ricker; grandson, Brian Ellison; several nieces, nephews and a host of other special family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ricky Witt officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 30, 2013 in the Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday prior to funeral services.
