BALL , RUEL CHARLES, JR. - age 45, of Halls, died suddenly Sunday, July 4, 1999. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Bright Hope Lodge #557 F.& A.M, the Knoxville Rod and Gun Club and the Sheet Metal Workers Local #5. Co-owner of JBM Inc. Member of Beaverbrook Country Club and he was an avid golfer. He coached baseball for many years at the Halls Community Park. Preceded in death by father, Ruel C. Ball , Sr. Survivors: wife, Sherry Ball ; sons, Brent and Matt Ball ; mother, Edith Ball of Halls; sister and brother-in-law, Syondra and Bill Cox, LaFollette; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Anne Ball , Knoxville; niece, Courtney Nicholson; nephews, Stacy and Kenny Ball , Bobby and Brian Nicholson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norma and Wayne Byrd, Powell; many special friends. Family and friends will meet 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary to leave in procession for an 11a.m. graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, Rev. John Holland officiating. Pallbearers: Ray Pate, Jim Stiles, A.C. Cooper, Billy Davis, Danny Gaylor and Glen Kitts. Honorary pallbearers: Stacy and Kenny Ball , Brian and Bobby Nicholson, Dale Rutherford, Eddie Wilburn and Donnie Cooper. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 4800 Salem Church Rd., Knoxville, TN 37938. Arrangements by Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Ave. at Broadway.
