BALL , EDITH C. age 84 of Knoxville, went gently into the light Monday, November 19, 2012 at Physicians Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was surrounded by family and love. A member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class and the New Horizon Seniors. Edith was known as Grandma to her grandchildren and she lived her life in gratitude to God as was evident by her humble and unselfish nature. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Nola Moore . Preceded in death by husband, Ruel Ball , Sr.; sons, Dean Ball and Ruel Ball , Jr.; brothers, Clifford, Sam and Gary Moore ; sister, Millie Harrelson. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Syondra and Bill Cox of LaFollette; granddaughter, Courtney Nicholson; grandsons, Stacy Ball and wife Cindy, Bob Nicholson and fiancé Holly Hart, Kenny Ball , Brian Nicholson, Brent Ball and wife Celina, Matt Ball and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Catherine Nicholson, Molly King, Ashleigh Nicholson, Quinton Ball and Truman Ball ; brothers, Tom Moore and wife Rachel, Ben and Earl Moore ; aunt, Jenny Shrader; daughters-in-law, Sherry Ball and Ann Ball ; sisters-in-law, Rowena Mynatt, Sue Ball and Elsie Burkhart and husband Robert; special friends, Jane Allen and Wanda Russell; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Bill Burkhart and his staff, the ICU nursing staff at Physicians Regional Medical Center, Dr. Allen Smith, Dr. William Webb and Dr. John Morrison. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Pastor Gerald McGinnis and Rev. Don Ferguson officiating. Interment to follow at Roseberry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4014 Garden Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918 or the charity of your choice. Family will receive friends 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
