Maude E. Maples Townsend, 85, of Sevierville, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dowe Townsend, two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Carroll King, Bea and Claude Barnes; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Dell Townsend, Delmer and Dot Townsend, Wade Townsend; sister, Louise King; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is 7 p.m. Saturday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge, with the Rev. Mike Beck and the Rev. Clarence Wilson officiating. Interment is 2 p.m. Sunday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Pigeon Forge.

TOWNSEND, MAUDE E. MAPLES, - age 85 of Sevierville, died Thursday June 1, 2000 at Sevier County Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dowe Townsend. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nola King and Anna Blalock; brothers, Arlie, George, and Hobe Maples.
Survivors: daughters & sons-in-law, Faye & Carroll King, Bea & Claude Barnes; sons & daughters-in-law, David & Dell Townsend, Delmer & Dot Townsend, Wade Townsend; grandchildren, Dan King, Connie King, Chris Barnes, Claudia Catlett, Pat Townsend, Mike Townsend, Wendy French, Tracy Ball, Johnny Townsend, Janet Whaley; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Louise King. Funeral service 7 p.m. Saturday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge. Rev. Mike Beck and Rev. Clarence Wilson officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
