Jetta Louise Metcalf Reaves, age 65, of Powell, TN, formerly of Greeneville, died Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011, at Mercy Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Mrs. Reaves, known as 'Newport,' made her home in Powell with Adalyn and Alyssa. Mrs. Reaves was employed at Magnavox for 20 years and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post #1990. Survivors include two daughters Adalyn Henry and Mitzey Connatser, both of Powell, TN; two step-daughters Lisa Powell and Bernice Trusty; three grandchildren: Alyssa Henry, Noah Connatser, and Isaac Connatser; step-grandson Thomas Powell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 12 years Marvin Hoffine Reaves, who was a veteran of World War II; parents Roy and Glennie Metcalf, one brother Billy Metcalf, and one sister Arlene Davis. At her request there will be no formal visitation. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011, at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Jennings will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Metcalf Cemetery Fund, c/o Vernell Holt, 341 Old 15th Road, Del Rio, TN 37727. Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
