COWDEN , CARROLL - age 81 of Knoxville went to his Heavenly home on December 31, 2004. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, retiree of the Knoxville Fire Department and served in the US Marine Corps. Preceded in death by his wife, Faye parents, Carl and Dona Carey Cowden brother, Earl Cowden . Survivors include wife, Johnnie sons, Eddie and wife Lisa, Jeff and wife Holly daughters, Debbie Thompson and husband Pat, Phyllis Key and husband Wesley step-daughters, Sharon Davis and husband Jim, and Marie Mingie and husband Freddy grandchildren, Greg, Melissa, Jonathan Cowden , Kelly Rhodes and husband Kyle, Tammy Davidson and Husband Jody, Patrick Thompson, Matthew, Sarah and Laura Key step-grandchildren, Lindsay and Jordan Garner, Jeremy and Jennifer Davis, Cory Mingie, Ashley Moore and husband Ed great grandchild, Jacob Davidson step- great grandchildren, Kailyn Rhodes, Jimmy and Ryne Moore sisters, Corene Underwood, Dorothy Hicks and husband Jess, and Mildred Bolsinger. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church FLC, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 8 PM in the chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Tucker officiating. Family and friends will meet at Beech Springs Cemetery at 9:15 AM Monday for 9:30 graveside service. Pallbearers will be the Knoxville Firemen.
