May 18, 1930 - December 2, 2017 Charles Henry Hicks, age 87 of Seymour passed away Saturday December 2, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 18, 1930 in Madisonville, TN. Charles served in the Army during the Korean War and was retired from ALCOA where he served as Superintendent. He was a car enthusiast and loved going to “Smokies” baseball games. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Hicks. Survivors include: wife, Stella Hicks; children, John Hicks and wife Sharon, Teresa O’Beirne and husband Kevin, Lisa Settlemyre and husband Tommy, Tammy Emert and husband Kevin, and Keith Jones and wife Renda; grandchildren, Angie Cole and husband John, Christie Hicks, Heather Barnett and husband Chance, Kim O’Beirne, Chris O’Beirne, Elijah Settlemyre, Nathan Settlemyre, Katie Settlemyre, Justin Emert and wife Christen, Jonah Emert, and Katie Jones; and great-grandchildren, Camden and Colton Barnette, and Addilee Emert. Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice. The family will receive friends from 4-7PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7PM with Pastor Keith Vaughn and Pastor Charles Bailey officiating.
