Arnold Eugene “Copperhead” McMahan, born August 27, 1931, died Saturday night November 2, 2013, at his home. He worked 41 years and retired from Tennessee Farmers Co-op in Rockford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clennie McMahan; brothers, Kenneth and Ronnie McMahan; and sister, Evelyn Walker. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jewell Powers McMahan; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Creed Kirkland, Barbara Amburn, and Judy and Bill Wilson; granddaughter, Jessica Wilson; great-grandson, William Tindell; brothers and sister-in-law, Raymond Earl and Lula McMahan and Jack McMahan of Maryville; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred and Murphy Hembree and June Nelson of Georgia; special friends and neighbors, Carl Long and Fred Clark; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Family and friends will gather 11:00 AM Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
